I always keep my eyes peeled for prints and art works that I can collect and frame. Etsy is my usual go-to place for affordable and and one of a kind artworks and over time I have built up a signification "favourite sellers" list.
Here are a couple that I am eyeing off at the moment. Please, feel free to share with me some of your favourites. I am always on the hunt for new artists.
The first series of illustrations are by Janelle Burger and focus on recent seasonal designer collections. The second collection of Water paintings are by Cate Parr and can be found here.
It's taken longer then it should have, but since returning from Europe and quitting one of my ten million jobs, I have been able to focus on bringing you the best possible posts and spending the required time looking at all of your beautiful blogs as well. I plan on making Social Emissions bigger and better as the months continue to roll by. I will continue to post my personal photography, personal style and one on one interviews with new localised fashion industry talent. To celebrate this small but relative achievement I will be having a give-away competition, so watch this space.
Whilst browsing through hundreds of blogs and imagery from the current on goings in New York at the moment I can across the following two photos that I found both uncanny and amusing.
Proof that the devil does laugh. Here Anna Wintour shares a chuckle with the girls from Pamela Love. Image courtesy of Refinery 29.
and just as we thought we were witnessing a fun loving and light heart Anna Wintour, she snaps straight back into her usual sultry snobbish demeanour . I think been seated next to Nicki Minaj may have had something to do with this. They are at the Oscar De La Renta show and Nicki clearly has much more important things on her mind. Seriously.... what could possibly be better then Oscar De La Renta. Image courtesy of ellpa.
Last week I has the pleasure of sitting down for a lovely lunch with Miss Libby Willis. The talented photographer responsible for the most recent and incredibly successful YEDP Campaign shoot (Check it out here if you haven't seen it yet) that not only were published in several media releases regarding the event but also on Vogue.com.au.
Libby is like newly discovered diamond that is still a little rough around the edges (in a good way). She is just waiting to be picked up, given a good cut, shine and polish and become one of the Brisbane's finest jewels within the fashion industry. Her talent is undoubtedly magnificent and she has big dreams set within her sights. Not only is Libby talented but she is also beautiful, kind and a pleasure to spend time with.
Just take a look at some of these wonderful images that Libby graciously provided me with and be swept up by her clean, crisp and vibrant photography.
Be sure to watch out for this name in the future in your Vogue magazines!
